Edna lived, and died, alone in her 1800's home. She was known as gentle and kind but unpredictable, and she often said she wasn't the only one in the house. Family members recalled her speaking of a stationary shadow that would appear in corners of the living room. She believed the shadow belonged to William, a troubled uncle who had once lived there. His life ended suddenly, and though the record called it natural causes, the family suggested something more unsettling. William was prone to anger and then would brood in a corner, sometimes for hours, silent and still.
Edna had a collection of Hummel figurines. She adored them. She kept them displayed on a shelf and she loved to talk to anyone who would listen.
After she passed the family noticed the Hummels appeared to be moved on the shelf. And each time it was just one Hummel that was moved... just a few inches away from the collection and set in a corner of the display cabinet.
The Hummels were finally boxed up when the family was cleaning out the house. The next day they found the shelf, the Hummels were sitting on, had collapsed... as if struck. At this point the shelf falling was odd but not really out of the ordinary. The cabinet and the broken shelf was stored away in a barn for years to be refinished. The shelf was not replaced. That very shelf, steeped in decades of energy and story, has been built into these spirit boards. Each planchette, each strip of wood, holds the energy of Edna's home.
What does energy that clings to the wood mean? Those who sit with charged items in their hands, like this spirit board, seem to experience a different level of connection. Whether shadow or memory, that energy lingers in the grain of the wood you now have and hold. These boards are crafted to let it move and bond with the energy that is present around it or touching it.
